In Fayetteville, AR there are a lot of theaters and live performance venues that are well worth the drive. We’ve listed the best ones so you can easily plan a night out in our city. Enjoy!
Walton Arts Center
Founded in 1992, this cultural center offers many different performing arts shows, from musicals to jazz concerts and film screenings. Many shows have big sponsors like Unilever, Coca-Cola, and Procter & Gamble. It’s located near the campus, so there are always great student deals. If you plan on going to Walton Arts Center often, you can purchase a subscription, which lets you see all the shows you want while saving a lot of money.
There is a concession stand offering wine, beers, and liquors, but please drink responsibly. There is also a variety of pre-packaged snacks. If you’re really hungry, the concession stand also sells light meals, like chicken wraps and fresh veggie plates.
George’s Majestic Lounge
George’s Majestic Lounge is one of the best concert venues in the area. It has been one of the most popular entertainment spots in our area since 1927. It has been voted one of the best 100 college bars nationwide and one of the top 20 favorite Fayetteville memories by University of Arkansas alumni. Never drink and drive, and please drink responsibly.
There are a lot of good restaurants nearby, including Powerhouse, which serves amazing seafood, and Marley’s Pizzeria, where you’ll find Chicago-style pizza. On Friday, there are Happy Hour Shows. They’re not a recent invention, as George’s Majestic Lounge has been hosting them for over 45 years! Happy Hour Shows start at 6 PM and run until 8 PM or 9 PM.
JJ’s Live
This is another great music event center in our city. There is a food area at the back of the venue, where you can find tasty burgers, pizza, and a variety of snacks. If you want to spend a little extra money on pit tickets, you’ll get access to a pit-only bar, as well as the pit area right in front of the stage. The pit area and the area dedicated to people with general-admission tickets are standing-only. If you want to get seated, you’ll have to get access to the VIP area, with a mezzanine and tables.
Shows are suitable for all ages, so you can take the whole family with you and everyone will have a good time. After all, your new Hyundai Accent SE has cozy 60/40-folding rear seats, so the whole family will enjoy a comfortable trip to the venue. JJ’s Live has been renovated in 2021.
Roots HQ
This historic concert venue partners with the University of Arkansas to offer concerts, workshops, and music jams. It’s located in a historic building from the 1880s, which hosted the Guisinger Music House from 1984 to 1981.
In the summer, Roots HQ hosts some of the events linked to the Fayetteville Roots Festival. People come to our city from over 25 states to see this festival! Throughout the year, at Roots HQ you can listen to all music genres: jazz, folk, blues, country, and many more.
