Drivetrain and Performance
Seeing the new Santa Cruz in action, it’s understandable that Hyundai has taken to calling it a “Sport Adventure Vehicle.” This is a truck that can take just about anything you throw at it, and more! The standard engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 191 horsepower, and 181 lb-ft of torque, which is impressive given its smaller stature than most other trucks in this segment.
The Santa Cruz’s drivetrain can also be upgraded to a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 281 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, if drivers prefer!
Top-Notch Interior and Comfort
The SUV gene in the Santa Cruz’s DNA makes itself most apparent in the spaciousness and comfort of the interior. The four-door crew cab will have you feeling almost like you’re in a Tucson, but with the added bonus of having a truck bed on the back! The Santa Cruz also maintains a sleek, modern look with its all-digital gauge cluster and the use of premium-feeling materials (a nice touch that Hyundai has excelled at in recent years).
State of the Art Infotainment and Safety Features
The standard infotainment system on the Santa Cruz is an 8-inch touchscreen (this can be upgraded to a 10.3-inch screen) which comes with plenty of standard and optional features! This includes a standard rear view monitor (with parking guidance), available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and three free years of Hyundai’s Blue Link service, which allows drivers to start their truck, lock/unlock doors, and more, all done remotely via an app (or even your at-home Alexa)!
In terms of safety and security features, the Santa Cruz doesn’t skimp there either. Standard features include a lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, while drivers looking for more driver assistance features can opt for the blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
