1. Boating

Enjoy a day of canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boating on the calm waters of the lake. Pontoon paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and standup paddleboards are available to rent. There are a boat launching ramp and a boathouse. Motors above 10 horsepower are not permitted on the lake.

2. Fishing

You can fish off the pier, the shore, or a boat. The lake is regularly stocked with fish and largemouth and spotted bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and bream are regularly caught. In 2004 a world-record grass carp of 80 pounds was hooked in the lake.

3. Swimming

The cool water of the lake has always been a favorite spot for swimming in the region. There is a handicap-accessible ramp that runs into the water and a historic diving platform.

Camping under the trees in the recreation area is a treat not to be missed. There are 18 primitive family-unit campsites with restrooms and showers. The sites all have picnic tables, fire circles, and grills. The campground is suitable for big rigs and is pet-friendly. Camping gear is available for rent should you need it.
