Osage, AR

Your drive starts from Fayetteville by taking East Mission Road to U.S. Highway 412 and continuing east. You’ll come across three iconic streams of Northwest Arkansas on your way. These streams include the White River, War Eagle Creek, and Kings River. The journey to Osage, nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, will take you about one hour.

Ozark National Forest

The Pig Trail is credited to wild pigs that carved trails through dense woodland, paving the way for settlers. From Fayetteville, turn onto East Huntsville Road towards Brashears and proceed down State Highway 23. You’ll witness a lovely scene along the roadside in spring when wildflowers abound and in autumn when the leaves change color.

Check out the Turner Bend Outfitter, which lies at the intersection of the Mulberry River and Pig Trail Scenic Byway. After spending some time in Ozark, you can get back to Fayetteville via Interstate 49. On I-49, you can experience some of Arkansas’ most gorgeous views.

Siloam Springs, AR

Turn west onto West Wedington Drive to begin your journey. You will experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Ozark National Forest as you drive through to Siloam Springs. The forest harbors more than 500 tree species and plants. You can stop at Lake Wedington Recreation Area and try your luck fishing on the 102-acre lake.

 Once you get to Siloam Springs, you can shop on Main Street, which has classic antique shops, boutiques, kitchen stores, and more.
