The park spans 19 acres and is home to a 0.6-mile hiking trail, benches, and a pavilion. Gregory Park also features a concrete pump track and two downhill mountain-bike trails, so it’s optimal for bicyclists. If you want a challenge, up the ante with the park’s bicycle skills course. You can also fuel up before or after your ride in the park’s picnic area.

Go Boating at Lake Fayetteville

Sitting on 458 acres of land and featuring over 190 acres of water, Lake Fayetteville is a boater’s paradise. With its boat dock and marina, it’s a great place to get out and enjoy a day on the water. Before you head out, just make sure you have a boating permit.

If you plan on fishing, you can do so from the lake’s bank or your boat. When you’re boating, it’s important to stay below idle speed to create a safe environment for everyone paddling or relaxing nearby. If you don’t have a boat, you can rent one from the north side of the lake. Lake Fayetteville is also home to a softball complex, a disc golf course, the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, and a 5.5-mile nature trail and a 4.3-mile multi-use trail that both go around the lake.

Take a Hike in Mount Sequoyah Woods

Lace-up your hiking boots, pack some food and water, and head to Mount Sequoyah Woods. This wooded park spans 97 acres and features a 4.5-mile natural-surface trail for you to explore. Trek through the eastern side of Mount Sequoyah by accessing the path through one of two different entrances. Mount Sequoyah Woods also features a pavilion and a picnic area if you need a place to rest.

Go Fishing at Lake Sequoyah Park

Featuring 1,400 acres of land and 389 acres of water, Lake Sequoyah Park is a great place to catch some fish. Grab a friend or two and throw your line into the lake from the bank or your boat. If you want to fish off your boat, make use of the park’s marina, boat ramp, and courtesy dock. Just make sure to purchase a fishing permit at the marina before you head out onto the lake.

Along with fishing, you can also go boating, hiking, and nature watching. Hiking the area gives you beautiful scenic views of the lake, and if you keep your eye out during your trek, you’re sure to catch a glimpse of the area’s vast bird population.
