Hyundai Hope On Wheels Celebrates 27 Years with $27 Million Donation—and a Bold New Look

This year, Hyundai Hope on Wheels, Hyundai’s nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer, is celebrating a huge milestone. It’s been 27 years of making a difference—and $27 million in new grants to support lifesaving research.

Since 1998, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has donated $277 million to pediatric cancer research. Their unwavering commitment has helped more than 25,000 children, fueled new treatments, better care, and real hope for families facing this tough fight. The organization also funds innovative research, supports groundbreaking studies to develop better treatments, and ultimately finds cures for children battling cancer. As the organization marks its 27th year, its hope, healing, and progress mission is stronger than ever.

A Renewed Mission, A Bigger Impact

2025 Hyundai Hope on Wheels will award $27 million in research grants. Children’s hospitals and medical centers across the U.S. will benefit from these funds to help:

• Support groundbreaking cancer research
• Improve survivorship care programs
• Provide long-term care for children who beat cancer

These pediatric cancer research grants are crucial in advancing treatment. The Hyundai Scholar Hope Grant and the Hyundai Young Investigators Grant provide substantial funding, which helps researchers within the Children’s Oncology Group.

With this year’s donations, Hyundai Hope on Wheels will have funded over 1,400 grants, which will go to more than 175 pediatric institutions. These contributions don’t just offer treatment; they also give families emotional and psychological support that lasts long after treatment ends.

A Fresh New Look to Reflect the Future

To celebrate its 27th year, Hyundai Hope on Wheels unveiled a new brand identity. It honors their history while looking ahead to new victories. The organization’s efforts have a lasting impact on children and their families, underscoring the profound and enduring effects of their support.

What’s new in the logo:

• The iconic handprint remains, symbolizing the children they fight for.
• A wing, heart, and leaf were added to represent hope, love, and healing.
• Brighter colors and a modern font show the spirit of progress and optimism.

Meet the 2025 National Youth Ambassador: Jackson Trinh

Hyundai Hope on Wheels chooses young ambassadors who inspire others with their stories. This year, 10-year-old Jackson Trinh from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was named National Youth Ambassador.

Jackson, a cancer survivor, will visit hospitals with Emmy Cole (the 2024–2026 ambassador). They will share their experiences and raise awareness for pediatric cancer research. Scientists play a crucial role in the research supported by Hyundai Hope on Wheels. They contribute to groundbreaking discoveries and advancements.

September: National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Later in 2025, Hyundai Hope on Wheels will host grant ceremonies and other significant events at hospitals nationwide. These events lead up to National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.

The celebrations will wrap up with a national event in Washington, D.C., marking 27 years of progress and recommitting to the mission to find cures for childhood cancer.
