Mountain Biking Fayetteville Arkansas

Located in the northwestern portion of the state, Fayetteville, AR is known for its spectacular natural beauty. With spring comes a bouquet of flowers, while autumn ushers in trees bursting with gold and red. Whatever the season, check out our list of the 5 best ways to enjoy the outdoors.

1. Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park

Historians and military buffs will both enjoy strolling the grounds of this historic site. In 1862, the Union army faced off against the Confederates on what is today a state park.

With over 700 acres, there is no shortage of things to see. You can find both monuments and museums at this park, but we recommend simply taking a moment to reflect on the past.

2. Mount Sequoyah Woods Trail

For those who love hiking in untouched forests, we suggest a visit to Mount Sequoyah Woods. There you’ll find miles of trails that beg to be explored.

Our favorite trail is the moderately rated Mt. Sequoyah Woods Loop. This 2-mile loop gives hikers the chance to see the very best this peaceful forest has to offer.

3. Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Spring and summer are the best seasons for viewing the gardens in full bloom. The park boasts 12 display gardens, each with a special theme. The Japanese Garden is the place to relax in a meditative environment, while the Children’s Garden is alive with the laughter of kids.

While the flowers are lovely, take a moment to visit two of the more special places in the park. The Rock and Water Garden features refreshing streams of water cascading over local sandstone. The Butterfly Garden is also very popular, with hundreds of these fluttery beauties in the air.

4. Lake Fayetteville

The lake is part of a huge complex with tons of outdoor activities. Fishing is wildly popular, crappie, bass, and bluegill are just a few of the species that can be readily caught. Boating is also a fun way to waste a lazy afternoon; boat rentals are available on site.

Around the lake are trails for cycling and hiking and a variety of parks. A disc golf park is located on the north bank, while a softball field also sits nearby. Visitors will find it easy to spend the entire day outdoors at the lake.

5. Fayetteville Farmer’s Market at Historic Square

If browsing for local fruits and vegetables appeals to you, then you will want to check out the largest farmer’s market in town. Open 3 days a week, the market features over 60 vendors.

Once you’ve loaded up on fresh produce, take a stroll around the historic downtown square. There you’ll find charming stores mixed with well-tended gardens. Cafes offering plenty of outdoor seating are available when you need to kick back with a refreshing beverage.

Another popular outdoor activity is browsing the lot of your favorite car dealership. Head on over to Crain Hyundai today for the best deals on a car that comes with the nation’s best warranty. At Crain, we are here for you.
