The Northwest Region of America’s “Natural State” offers beautiful trails for taking in the scenery, while the rugged landscape of the mountainsides offers the ultimate challenge for adrenaline junkies. Be it the casual cyclist or the expert mountain biker, Fayetteville has a trail for everybody. These are four of Fayetteville’s best bike trails for all levels of experience.

4 Great Bike Paths and Trails Near Fayetteville, AR

1. Razorback Greenway

Stretching 36-miles north, from the southern side of Fayetteville to near the Missouri border, this shared biking and pedestrian trail is the longest system of interconnected trails in the state. The trail spans the length of the city, making it perfect for exploring Fayetteville’s inner districts.

Whether you are touring the microbreweries of the city’s famous ‘Ale Trail’ or looking to do some shopping and fine dining in the city’s Uptown District, this trail makes the region easy to navigate for bikers of all levels.

2. Lake Fayetteville Bike Trails

The Lake Fayetteville Trail is one of the most popular attractions of the entire region. With a combination of soft paved and natural surfaces, the trail weaves a 12.5-mile loop around Lake Fayetteville Park and connects with the Razorback Greenway for easy city navigation. The trail offers beautiful views of the natural scenery, including the view of a cascading waterfall from the safety of the pedestrian bridge.

Within the limits of the park are also two skill courses made out of wooden planks and stone. These courses are the perfect place to practice your technique and balance skills before taking on our next two trails.

3. Fossil Flats Trail

Located in the Devil’s Den State Park, the Fossil Flats Trail features some of the oldest trails in the state. Located 25-miles south of the city, the bike trail covers a 6-mile loop across Lee Creek Valley and through the beautiful Ozark Mountains. Along the way, you will see fossils visible in the creek bed, evidence of early settlers, and a collection of big rock formations.

This trail is predominantly technical and is suited for more experienced mountain bikers.

4. Spellbound Trail

Covering the western side of Mt. Kessler, the Spellbound Trail is the ultimate test of a biker’s technical skill and is only suited for expert bikers. Only 1-mile in length, this black diamond trail spans from Western Myth to Trent Trail, bringing you along slick natural paths with several jutting rocks, and narrows into a wooden walkway. This trail features beautiful sunset views and natural scenery.
