Is Your Hyundai Having Electrical Problems?

Electrical problems are a headache for any driver and will cause additional problems if they aren't repaired. Fortunately, your Hyundai dealer in Fayetteville, AR, has highly-trained technicians to fix these problems for you. These are some signs that your car could have an electrical problem. Flickering Headlights If your headlights are flickering, this could easily mean that they're wearing out and are due for replacement. It could also mean that you have an electrical problem. Headlights have a limited life and will need to be replaced. If your headlights are less than a year old, the flickering could mean you have an alternator problem or damage to the bulb sockets. Your alternator supplies the electricity for your car's systems, including the headlights. As the alternator ages, it produces less power. This reduced power supply means your car's computer has to ration the available power. Flickering headlights can be caused by fluctuations in the power supplied by a weak alternator. Our technicians will need to investigate to determine the cause of the problem. Damaged Ignition Coil Your spark plugs provide the ignition for the fuel-air mix in the cylinders. When this mixture is ignited, it creates the combustion that moves your car. Although the spark plug ignites the mix, it needs help to generate the necessary power. A spark plug produces 12 volts, which isn't enough to ignite the fuel-air mix. This is where the ignition coil comes in. An ignition coil is attached to each spark plug, and they boost the power of the plugs to 30,000 volts. A coil can fail like any other component due to age or damage. If an ignition coil fails, this will cause misfiring in its cylinder due to the spark plug's lack of power. Our technicians can easily test the ignition coils and replace any that have failed. Starter Failure When you turn the key or press the button, your started motor receives a powerful electrical charge from the battery. This charge activates the starter solenoid, which initiates the crank and starts the engine. If you try and start your car and hear no sounds, this is usually a sign that the starter has failed. A failed starter means your car isn't going anywhere until it's fixed. The solenoid itself can fail, and we can replace it. If the starter motor fails we'll need to replace it as it can't be repaired. Once our technicians have found the source of the problem, your engine will start normally again. If you experience any problems with your electrical system, call our service department right away at Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville. Our experts will fix the problem for you.

Does Your Hyundai Need a New Catalytic Converter?

Cars allow us to get from place to place in style, but unfortunately, they produce a large number of toxic emissions. Catalytic converters were invented so that we can keep all the benefits of vehicles without the consequences to our lungs, atmosphere, and environment. If you think your catalytic might be due for an update, check out this list before dropping by your Hyundai dealer. 1. Spending More Money on Gas Inside the converter is a mesh filtering layer consisting of precious metals that intake emissions and catalyze them into less harmful forms. With enough use, this layer can become clogged with deposits and prevent the proper passage of airflow through your fuel system. This means there won't be enough room for fresh air to enter your engine. If your converter is going out the first sign you'll likely notice is that you've been spending a lot more on trips to the pump. This is because fuel must have air to combine with in order to properly combust, and without it, the gas you spray by pressing on the pedal will exit uselessly out the tailpipe. The only way to solve this problem is to get a replacement or have the converter cleaned. 2. You're Unable to Accelerate the Way You Used To Just like the previous issue, this problem is rooted in how a clogged filter won't allow fresh air to enter your fuel system. In order to accelerate, your car would normally spray additional gas at a level that mirrors the rate you've pressed on the gas pedal and combust it for motion. Without fresh air, however, your car will lag before actually increasing speed. This inability to accelerate properly will be most noticeable during maneuvers like overtaking a lane or merging onto the highway since those are both moments you'd need your engine to reliably increase speed. Not replacing the converter can be dangerous in these instances, since lagging can result in being under the speed limit on a fast road. 3. Unpleasant Noises If your car has suddenly become loud to the point of being obnoxious, you may have lost your converter entirely. Without the device present, cars will rumble at an immense volume even while left idle. This substantial volume has been described by some as a "roar". If the sound is more of a rattle, the converter's inner mesh may have broken loose. This is due to the metal bouncing around against the component's walls and will emit noise from beneath the vehicle. The rattling will be especially noticeable as the engine turns over. Beyond saving the environment, having a functioning converter can benefit you by offering better fuel economy and increased horsepower. Visit Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville to day to receive all the perks that come with having your converter upgraded.

Time for New Headlights? Visit Your Hyundai Dealer

If you're driving at night and can't see more than a few feet in front of your car, it might be time for new headlights. Here are some other signs that it's time to visit your nearest Hyundai dealer. The Headlights Appear Dim The headlights on your car are one of the most important safety features. They help you to see at night and in poor weather conditions. Headlights can lose their brightness over time due to a build-up of dirt and debris. In addition, the plastic lens may also deteriorate and fade. When this occurs, the amount of light that can flow through is diminished, which makes it harder to see at night. If you notice that your headlights are dimming, it's important to have them fixed immediately. Not only will this improve your visibility, but it will also help to make your car more visible to other drivers. Constantly Blowing Fuses Constantly blowing fuses can signal that you need to replace your headlights. When your car's headlights are on, they draw much power from the electrical system. If the fuse is frequently blowing, it's a sign of too much strain on the system. The problem could be with the wiring or the bulbs themselves. In either case, it's best to get the problem checked out by a mechanic. Otherwise, you could end up with a dead battery or worse. The Headlights Are Flickering When your headlights start to flicker, it indicates that they're not getting the full volts from the electrical system. The cause is usually a worn-out alternator or a bad battery, but it could also be a loose connection or an electrical problem in the car's headlight switch. When this happens, the electrical current running through the bulb will not flow smoothly, resulting in a flickering light. If you're unsure whether you need changed headlights, it's always best to consult with a professional. A flickering headlight is more than just an annoyance - it can be a safety hazard. The High Beams Are Faulty High beams are just as important as low beams when it comes to nighttime visibility. High beams allow you to see further down the road and help brighten the sides of the road. As a result, they can be a lifesaver in certain situations. If your high beams are flickering or not working correctly, it's a sign that you need better headlights. It's always a great idea to be proactive about car maintenance, and replacing your headlights is one of the simplest ways to keep your car running well. If you're not sure whether or not you need to change your headlights, our team can help. We offer headlight repairs and replacement services, so don't hesitate to contact Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville if you have any questions or concerns. Image via pixabay.com by wilkernet

4 Car Maintenance Tips to Keep Your Hyundai in Great Shape

Routine car maintenance will keep your Hyundai Elantra, Kona, or Sonata in excellent running condition. Follow the five tips below from your Hyundai dealer, and your car will be as reliable and safe as the day you bought it. 1. Read Your Owner's Manual Everything you need to know about your Hyundai model and how to keep it in top condition is in your owner's manual. The manual has detailed information on your car's operating systems, features, warning lights, and tire pressure. It contains the service schedule and factory-prescribed maintenance intervals to help you maintain your Hyundai and keep it running at its best. 2. Follow the Service Schedule Following the service schedule and prescribed maintenance intervals are vital to keeping your Hyundai in excellent running condition. During each maintenance service, your Hyundai technician will perform specific maintenance tasks as set out in the service schedule. These tasks include prescribed fluid corrections and replacements, system inspections, and parts replacements to ensure your vehicle is reliable, fuel-efficient, safe, and lasts longer. Your engine will run smoothly, and you'll save money on unexpected and costly repairs because your Hyundai technician will detect problems early and perform the necessary repairs before a minor issue turns into an expensive replacement. 3. Stick to the Oil Change Intervals Oil changes are the most essential maintenance task and must be replaced at the prescribed intervals. The oil keeps the moving components lubricated, reduces friction, keeps your engine protected, and extends the life of your vehicle. Hyundai recommends an oil and filter change every 4,500 to 7,500 miles or every six months, depending on your model, engine type, driving habits, and road condition. If you drive in traffic, take regular short trips, or tow heavy loads, it will influence how often your vehicle will need an oil change. Check your owner's manual for the oil change intervals and the correct oil grade and viscosity for your specific Hyundai model, and speak to your Hyundai technician to help you with the best oil change schedule for your driving conditions. 4. Always Use Genuine Hyundai Parts When your car needs replacement parts, always use high-quality genuine Hyundai parts specifically engineered and manufactured for your vehicle. The parts are corrosion-resistant and tested for reliability, safety, and high performance. You can conveniently order parts on our website by filling in the online form, and a customer service specialist will assist you in finding the correct part for your vehicle. Regular maintenance performed by trained and certified Hyundai technicians will save you money on gas and costly repairs and keep your Hyundai on the road longer. Call Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville today and schedule a maintenance appointment. Our Hyundai technicians will help you maintain your vehicle and keep it in tip-top condition.

3 Keys to Getting a Quality Collision Repair for Your Hyundai

If you need a collision repair, you want the work to be perfect. After all, you're entrusting your Hyundai to someone to fix damage to the standard you expect. As a Hyundai dealer, we are experts in all repairs and servicing of Hyundai vehicles. We want to tell you more about why we are your first and best choice for a quality repair. Hyundai-Trained Technicians Our technicians aren't regular mechanics they're experts. All our technicians have been trained and then undergo additional training with Hyundai. This intensive training gives them complete knowledge of the full range of Hyundai vehicles. Expert knowledge allows them to work faster and more precisely than any other mechanics If you choose an ordinary repair shop, you won't have access to this specialist training. Regular mechanics work on a variety of cars, but they lack the training and knowledge of your Hyundai. All cars are not the same. A regular mechanic will take longer to repair a problem. They may also not see a potential problem that our highly-trained technicians will. Genuine Parts A high-quality repair requires high-quality parts. As a dealer, we will only ever use genuine Hyundai parts. These parts meet the required standards for safety, quality, and longevity that you expect and deserve. We know that quality is important to you as you chose a Hyundai. Genuine Hyundai parts are designed and manufactured for your car. This ensures they will fit and work perfectly. A regular repair shop will use generic rather than genuine parts. Generic parts are cheaper than original parts because they're not designed for your car. A generic part is designed for installation on the largest possible range of vehicles. The problem, however, is generic parts aren't as reliable as original parts and will fail sooner. A generic part may also not fit correctly and could need adjustment, which compromises a repair. Quality Standards Our repairs are made according to the strict rules set in place by Hyundai. They're backed by a history of over 50 years of automotive engineering. All our repair work is checked and rechecked to ensure that it matches these standards. We can guarantee the best possible repair, from replacing a broken tail light to rebuilding your engine. A perfect and permanent repair demands high quality, and this is what you deserve and receive from us. A regular repair shop can't match this level of quality. Their level of quality is backed only by their local reputation. There are many other reasons to choose us for any repair. If you'd like to know more or to book a repair, call Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville.

car ac

Car AC Not Working? Stop By Your Hyundai Dealer

If you're one of the many car owners who are dealing with the problem of car AC not working, don't worry. You can stop by your local Hyundai dealer and we can help you out. We have a team of expert technicians who are specifically trained to deal with car problems, including issues to do with the AC. Read on to learn how we're able to get your car running cool again in no time. We'll Check the AC Compressor The compressor is responsible for circulating the refrigerant through the AC system. When the compressor is not working, the refrigerant will not be circulated and the air conditioning will not work. There are several reasons why the compressor might not be turning on. The most common reason is that there is a problem with the electrical system. This can be caused by a blown fuse, a loose wire, or a problem with the switch that turns on the compressor. We'll Check the AC Condenser The AC condenser helps to cool the refrigerant, which in turn helps to cool the air inside the car. However, if the condenser is leaking water, it can cause a number of problems. First, it can lead to a loss of refrigerant, which will make the air conditioning less effective. Second, it can cause the formation of ice on the evaporator coils, which can reduce the efficiency of the system and potentially damage the coils. Finally, it can lead to rust and corrosion, which can shorten the life of the air conditioning system. There are a number of potential causes of a leaking condenser, including a faulty seal or a build-up of debris. We'll Check the Evaporator The evaporator is responsible for removing heat from the air inside the compartment, and it does this by drawing heat away from the air and into the refrigerant. However, if there is a problem with the evaporator, it can cause several issues. For example, if the evaporator is not sufficiently cooled, it can cause the air conditioning system to blow hot air. Additionally, if the evaporator is frozen, it can cause ice to build up on the coils and impede airflow. We'll Check the Blower Motor The AC blower motor is responsible for moving air through the vents and into the cabin. There are a few different things that could be wrong if the AC blower motor isn't working. First, it could be a problem with the electrical system. Another possibility is that the motor itself is faulty. If your car's AC isn't working, don't despair. Bring it on by to Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville and let us help get your car's AC system up and running again. We want to help keep you cool this summer, and our team of technicians is here to do just that. Image via Pixabay.com by ninofficialphotography

3 Engine Problems You Should Always Get Fixed at Your Hyundai Dealer

Your Hyundai is an excellent and very reliable car: two of the reasons why you chose it in the first place. To keep your vehicle in good condition, though, any potential problem must be repaired ASAP. Engine problems can be very damaging. As your Hyundai dealer, we'd like to tell you about some of the problems we can fix for you. Colored Exhaust Smoke Exhaust smoke from a healthy engine is white. Black, blue, or gray smoke is a sign that something is going wrong. The color of the smoke identifies the problem. Black smoke means there's a combustion problem, and your engine is burning too much fuel. The problem would be caused by a clogged air filter, damaged fuel injectors, or a malfunctioning sensor. Blue exhaust smoke means your engine is burning oil. Oil is leaking into your engine from damaged rings or seals. Thick white smoke means that water is entering the exhaust system. The most common cause of this is antifreeze leaking into the exhaust. Gray smoke can mean your engine is using too much oil, you have a jammed PCV valve, or you have transmission problems. Overheating Problems Your Hyundai has a highly-efficient cooling system, and the radiator is the centerpiece of this system. The radiator acts as a heat exchanger to exchange heat from the coolant with cooler outside air. Coolant is pumped through your engine when the temperature rises. The coolant absorbs the heat from the engine and transports it to the radiator for cooling. The cooling system can be affected by several different problems, including coolant leaks, damaged radiator hoses, and a blocked radiator. Each of these problems can lead to an increase in engine temperature. If the engine temperature rises too high, it can result in serious damage to your engine. Our technicians will investigate and find and fix the problem. Transmission Problems Your transmission and engine are connected. The transmission uses the power from your engine to move your car's wheels at the desired speed. It achieves this using a series of gears of decreasing sizes. The transmission is a very complex piece of engineering with hundreds of fast-moving parts. The failure of a small component in the transmission can result in transmission damage. A crack in the transmission pan gasket, for example, can cause a transmission fluid leak. Transmission fluid is essential for your transmission as it reduces heat, acts as a lubricant, and provides hydraulic power. Leaking fluid can swiftly increase the temperature in the transmission. If the leak isn't fixed, your transmission can overheat. If you have any problems with your engine, call us ASAP at Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville.
